Reflection/ Evaluation

I finally finished my second Video since my first video I could not upload it because it is in my laptop which needs a new hard drive. The most things I learned is to always have backup. At the beginning of this project, I was scared to fail this because I never ever was in touch with people from around the world in a project. This was my first time and I really enjoyed it.
We were put into groups. In total, there were thirteen groups. The group that I was in is Collaboration Webs and I had to focus on its impact on education. First, I did not know how to start and what to do. Mrs. Lindsay put the instructions in the class announcements with deadlines. For my group first I went on the Ning and started to look for my group members and I added them. I started our first discussion so that we can start the project in terms of researching and finding out what our topic really means. I started researching and wrote what I did in blogger.com. It is like a diary.
Ning is very useful you receive many help from people around the world even if they are not in your group. Every time I needed help, I would just go to the discussion board and ask for help and sometimes they would reply the next day. This made everything easy. We assigned each person in the group to be responsible for something for example the editor and that made everything easy. My focused on Collaboration Webs in Collages. We communicated on the Ning, which made it easier.
In my video, I had clip, which I received from the horizon project. I wrote my request and I got it the second day this made my time in creating the video very quickly and interesting.
In my opinion, I think that this project had benefits and limitations. The hardest part was finding the information. In addition, meeting new people was very interesting and fun. What really helped me in finding the information quickly is Delicious.com. This should be used in schools more often because it will really help. I really enjoyed the project I learned a lot, and I hope this continues next year.

Response for the keynote

After I watched the video, i think that it is great. Don Tapscott addresses the issue to raise awareness of people that technology is becoming more advanced and that people stay with the old way and instead they don't see the new and faster way for studying. He talks about how to improve the relationship between students and teachers. But he doesn't say the fact that technology has a great contribution in the advantages of education and this can improve the communication between students and teachers. For example for our school me use our school mail to communicate with our teachers.

The focus of my topic

Each member in my group is going to focus on there current part of education. One of the group members did the elementary and how it collaboration webs have an impact on education, another member of the group did the same thing but for High School, and i focused on Collage education and how it has an impact on collaboration webs. Bianca R-BSGE Grade 11 is our editor for the main wiki. So far everything is going great and I hope it continues like this.

Today i added a starting paragraph about our topic in the CWeb Education wiki. I also started our first group discussion. I also left a comment for my group members telling them what i did so far and i am waiting for their replay.

Collaboration Webs (education):

*How collaboration webs have an impact on education:

You can learn to support collaborative online work very easily and its not complicated. Now you can find many social networking tools, web applications, multi-function videoconference room collaborative workspaces, or a joint workstation where many people can author the same documents together sow we can get enough information from many different sites. This makes you learn a lot from other people not only that but; you also get to know their opinion.

We not only collaborate with people from our classmates in projects, we can also collaborate with people from all over the world through the Internet. This will expose our learning to variety of perspectives. In the workspaces you can share information, get ideas, and also socialize. An example of a social network is ning and social networks like facebook and many other networks.

The main concept of this is that it lets people share interests very easily, also ideas, work on joint projects, etc… all these are common to student work, research, collaborative teaching, writing and authoring, etc… using those groups people can collaborate on projects very easily online, these can be accessed form the internet anywhere in the world, and it can be shared among a team by creating tables, documents, pictures, etc… you can also leave comments. It has now become very easy to work and share your knowledge to people around the world.

You can include multi media in to your work by adding videos, audio clips, and also images and you can also edit them using the tools in the online service.

Horizon Project!

Horizon project is students collaborating around the world to create an informative video on the rising trends and technology. There are two types of horizon project, one for wiki spaces and the other is ning.

For the horizon project, my topic is about how collaboration webs have an impact on education. I am going to be in a group with at least 3 or 4 people around the world with the same topic! We will also have to do a video about the topic! I am really looking forward for this project.

What the World will be like in 2020

Today we watched the 2020 Vision by Karl Fisch. It is about OLPC. The video talks about the WiMax, Mobile Computing, move people online,colaborate with the other countries, google takes over the world, Gcast, learning managment, Moodle, portfolios/portal, Microsoft, and many other things.

Audio

Last lesson i recorded an introduction about myself using Audacity. It is really fast and simple to use. Today I exported it to Mp3 and uploaded it in Evoca.

My first blog post

This year in I.T class it is going to be very interesting.
We will be using www.Delicious.com it is for bookmarking and I will hopefully use it for all my subjects. Her is my delicious account http://del.icio.us/M_K_16.
